Guide
ASO Plus Creators Together
Fix the store first. Then pay someone your user already watches to send people there. A creator video that says “download it” is an ad for a listing you control in App Store Connect, not in Webflow. Screenshots, subtitle, ratings, preview video: that is ASO. If screenshot-one does not show the mechanic, you will “test influencers” and learn the wrong lesson.
A listing that converts well on branded search is not a company if eleven people a week search the name. ASO harvests intent. Creators manufacture it. Apple Search Ads sits on the store side as paid harvest. Spark Ads sit on the creator side as paid creation. You can run both. You should not blend their CPIs and pick a religion.
If you want the definitional split, read ASO vs creator marketing. What follows is the operating sequence I actually run.
Stop leaking
Screenshot one shows the product doing the thing. Subtitle names the user. Icon is readable at glance. You have a path to a few honest reviews (friends who actually used it, not a review farm). If you cannot describe the app in the first screenshot, you cannot brief a creator either.
Write the avatar and the store in the same words
If the listing says “productivity reimagined” and the avatar is “people who hate streaks,” you have two products. Pick. Put the user’s language on the listing before you pay someone to talk.
Feed-qualified creators, small n
Scout is $1,500 if you do not want to scroll. Outreach is $2,500 if you will not email. Brief them on the same mechanic as screenshot one. Unique codes. A quiet week in the download graph. Then you still have to email.
Read the funnel, not the vibe
Product page views up, downloads flat: listing/source-temperature problem. Nothing up: the post did not send store traffic. Downloads up, retention awful: you bought the wrong promise. Downloads up and people look like users: you may have a loop.
Steal language back. Comments on the Reel are screenshot copy. Localization ideas. Custom product pages on Apple if you can send a campaign to a matching hook.
Spark only the hook you have rights to
Send that traffic to the listing you already tightened. Now paid social is not “learning who we are” at auction prices.
Apple lets you attach different screenshot sets to different campaigns (and to some destination URLs, subject to current rules; check App Store Connect, they change). If a climbing creator is talking about sending, do not land their traffic on a generic “community” shot. Match the promise. This is ASO plus creators in the literal UI.
Play Store has its own experiments. Do not assume Apple’s toys exist there. Do the analog: first screenshots that match the content that is currently live.
Ratings as a conversion object
Social traffic is suspicious. Empty stars confirm the suspicion. Do not pay for reviews. Do prompt people who had a win. Time that prompt after value, not at first open. Creator-driven users who bounce on a 3.2 from twelve one-star crash reports are not a creator problem.
If a creator wants to show the listing on camera, it must be showable. That is packaging.
What not to combine on the same weekend
Product Hunt, a major ASA experiment, a new paywall, and three creator posts. You will not know what moved. Isolation is a luxury; even a founder can avoid stacking fireworks.
Where JumpTrend sits in the combined loop
JumpTrend is demand matching, not an ASO agency. Avatar on real phones, TikTok and Instagram. Scout is $1,500 for the list. Outreach is $2,500 for the inbox. Dealmaker is $5,000 for paper. Talent extra. No demo. No download guarantee. It assumes you shipped. It works better if the store can close.
If your ASO vendor is actually sending search traffic, keep them. Add creators when the bottleneck is “nobody knows to search.” If your ASO vendor is selling you a dream of ranking for a head term you will never win, fire the dream, fix conversion assets, and go manufacture intent.
The combined scoreboard
- Listing conversion by source (search vs social), not only blended.
- Download lift in a written window around posts (estimate).
- Net proceeds, not vanity downloads.
- Whether a hook is reusable in Spark (rights: yes/no).
- Whether comments sound like the avatar.
No fake “ASO + influencers = 3.8x” chart. Your category will not match a blog’s category.
You do not have to like either discipline. You have to stop making them fight. Fix the store first. Then pay someone your user already watches to send people there. A founder who cannot do marketing can still approve both as a spec, in that order, on purpose.
