JumpTrend vs Doing It Yourself
Doing it yourself is the default. You already have a phone. TikTok is free. This page is the honest split between a founder (or a shop) scrolling their own avatar and paying JumpTrend to do the session on operated devices.
DIY is the same method if you actually warm a dedicated session and write down recurrence. JumpTrend is that method as a product so you do not contaminate your personal algorithm, do not quit after forty minutes, and can optionally hand off inbox and paper. It is not a different philosophy. It is whether the session is your job this month.
What DIY is (fairly)
A competent founder can:
- Write an avatar sentence
- Make a dedicated TikTok/Instagram login (not their personal one)
- Warm it toward a niche
- Note who repeats
- Email public contacts
- Send a one-page brief
- Pay talent
- Read App Store Connect after a quiet week
None of that requires software. Hashtag search as a warm-up is allowed. A spreadsheet is allowed. Two weekends is a real cost.
I did this myself. Linger, save, like, comment as if you were the customer. Then check profiles. Ideally over 50k average views. Then email. Then call. Doing it by hand, at volume (you really need volume; the market is not efficient), is kind of soul-crushing.
DIY fails in predictable ways: you scroll as yourself; you quit when the feed is boring; you save 200 hashtag names and email none; you contaminate the only login you have; you stack Product Hunt on the same weekend and learn nothing.
What JumpTrend is (fairly)
You define the avatar. JumpTrend scrolls TikTok and Instagram on real phones as that person. Scout is $1,500/month for the list. Outreach is $2,500 if you want contacting and follow-up. Dealmaker is $5,000 if you want contract generation you approve. Creator fees extra. No demo, no sales call, no download guarantee. You approve every creator and every rate.
It will not pay talent. It will not run Ads Manager. It will not replace a listing pass.
Who operates the phones
There is almost no disagreement on what good looks like. The disagreement is who operates the phones and the follow-ups.
A dedicated session you will not maintain is theater. A $1,500 list you will not email is also theater. Scout assumes you will do the inbox. Outreach assumes you will not. DIY assumes you will do both and still ship.
Time is the scarce input for a solo founder. For a 3-15 person shop, the scarce input is a fresh avatar per client without eating the hours the retainer was supposed to fund.
Cost, without a fake ROAS
DIY cash cost can be $0 plus talent. DIY full cost is evenings and a biased feed.
JumpTrend cash cost is $1,500-$5,000/month plus talent. You can cancel. You should cancel if you are not using the list.
There is no honest “DIY CPI vs JumpTrend CPI” on this page. Anyone who publishes one invented the numerator.
This strategy, done well, can give you $1-$7 CPM. That number is from doing the method, not from a dashboard I made up.
Who should do which
DIY if: you will actually warm a dedicated session this month, you like writing the first line, and $1,500 is more than you can lose on a method you have not tried.
Scout if: you believe the method, you will send the mail, you will not scroll.
Outreach if: the list is not the failure. The inbox is.
Contract if: a yes should not live in DMs (Spark/whitelist language, usage window).
Neither yet if: the app is not live or the listing cannot close. Fix packaging first. See ASO plus creators together.
What this page will not say
We will not claim you cannot find a micro by hand. You can. We will not claim JumpTrend’s phones see a secret graph you cannot see. They see a session you specified. We will not invent a hours-saved number.
