Creator Deck

A creator deck is the artifact a shop (or a founder) uses to propose names: handles, a sample of work, a why, sometimes rates. It is a decision document. It becomes a sales prop when it is long, recycled, and sorted by follower count.

Agencies live and die by decks. Founders make a sadder version in a spreadsheet and then do not send the emails.

Why it matters

Clients do not buy “discovery” as an abstract. They buy a set of faces they can imagine on camera. If those faces are the same mid-tiers every shop already emailed, the deck is a commodity. See creator roster overlap.

A good deck is boring on purpose: one video per name, the avatar sentence at the top, overlap flagged, destination (app install vs Shop) stated so nobody asks where the product tag is.

What to put on a slide (or a row)

  • Handle and network
  • One URL the client will actually watch
  • Why this person is in this feed (not “fits the niche”)
  • Public contact status
  • Overlap / fresh / burned
  • Rate if you already have one; a range only if you will stand behind it
  • Not: a vibe paragraph, a fake ER benchmark, a guaranteed view count

Do not design a media kit for a nano who will never send one.

How feed-as-avatar changes the deck

If the list came from a warmed session, the “why” is allowed to be “they kept appearing for this avatar.” That sentence is specific. “Top fitness creators Q3” is not.

JumpTrend Scout ($1,500/month) is supposed to make that sentence true. It will not layout your pitch. Outreach and Contract do not replace the deck; they replace inbox and paper after the client said yes to a shape.

Failure modes

  • 40 names so nobody has to choose
  • Follower bands as the sort
  • Rates you invented from a blog
  • Mixing Shop-native creators into an IAP brief without a destination line
  • Sending the deck to the client before you checked TestFlight and the one-page brief

A deck without a creator brief is how you get a yes and then a hostage-video.

Order of slides

  1. Avatar sentence and destination (app / Shop / not both)
  2. How names were found (session / database / roster / mixed) in one line
  3. Names, one video each
  4. Overlap table
  5. What happens after yes (brief, rate approval, usage)
  6. What will not be in the report (vanity views as the KPI)

If you cannot write (2) without embarrassment, the deck is a mood board.

Rates in the deck

Only include a number you have in writing or a range you will stand behind when the creator replies with something else. Invented “mid-tier $X” lines become your problem on the kickoff call. JumpTrend does not quote talent; you approve every rate. Put that sentence in the appendix if the client expects a turnkey CPI.

Founder decks

A founder does not need Keynote. A table with eight rows and links is a deck. The failure mode is the opposite of the agency failure: no artifact at all, just a notes app, then no outreach.

If someone else is presenting your list to a client, they will make a deck anyway. Give them the why-in-feed column so they cannot replace it with follower counts.

What a deck is not

It is not a capabilities brochure. It is not a case-study montage with invented ROAS. It is not a follower-sorted export from a database with new crop marks. If the client asked for discovery, the deck has to survive the question “would my user know them?” If the client asked for production, send a shot list, not thirty handles.

A shop that cannot tell those two requests apart will send both artifacts and neither job.

FAQ

How many names belong in a deck?

Eight to a couple of dozen for a real decision. Fifty slides is a stall. If the client cannot do the 'would my user know them?' test, the deck is decoration.

Should I include follower counts?

If you must, put them in a column, not the title. Lead with one video and why they are in this customer's feed.

Is a Notion table a deck?

Yes if it is short and specific. A 40-page Keynote with stock gradients is still a deck, just a worse one.

Does JumpTrend generate the PDF?

No. Scout is a list. You format the deck. That is part of keeping the retainer.
