What 3D printer companion apps creators charge

Creator-powered user acquisition

I do not have a rate card for 3D printer companion apps and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.

The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. Print influencers quote machine-haul rates.

The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.

Why email is where the money-sink happens

I prefer email. The contact is usually in a small garage-print bio. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”

Spaghetti rants already have the audience; a remote-watch they will actually open at lunch is the product.

What not to pay for

A $3k unboxing with no camera view. Do not ask for a machine unboxing. Ask them to catch a fail at lunch. Skip the 400k print-influencer whose grid is a $3k machine unboxing.

The tag is $3k machine unboxers.

What I actually measure

Unique App Store codes, not a machine unboxing. App Store installs with a unique custom code. No download guarantee. No demo.

If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
