How to find baby gear brands Instagram creators
I still start with the same avatar. Instagram is a different room than TikTok. Reels, the grid, and the bio email are different. The person is not.
The person: the client’s customer is a US English parent, 28-40, already bounced off a registry they regret and a Facebook-group recommendation that broke, watches ‘I bought the wrong stroller’ and 3am-gear-rage videos after bedtime, never kid-directed content. They watch wrong-stroller, 3am-gear-rage, registry-regret, Facebook-group-lies. They already tried a registry they regret, a Facebook-group rec that broke, and a cheaper Amazon version that failed. Skip the family vlog that puts a baby on camera for a brand deal.
Instagram baby is product-in-the-nursery with kids on camera; skip those. TikTok after bedtime is the parent rant. Email the rant.
What I actually do on Instagram
Fresh account. Real phones. I try to put myself in the shoes of your client’s customer. Linger, save, like, comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up in Reels and in the feed.
Ideally over 50k average. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink.
Example I want to see: a parent in a parking lot fighting a stroller fold with no child featured as talent. Signal: the same after-bedtime gear-rage face two nights.
I prefer email. The contact is usually in a clearly-adult parent-creator bio. Just send a short note. Name a real Reel. Ask for the phone number. Don’t start the deal over email. If they won’t, move on.
Reels vs FYP
TikTok’s For You is a night session for wrong-stroller, 3am-gear-rage, registry-regret, Facebook-group-lies. Instagram still has a grid, a bio, and a Shop sticker. Instagram baby is product-in-the-nursery with kids on camera; skip those. TikTok after bedtime is the parent rant. Email the rant.
Do not copy the TikTok outreach into a DM that looks like a bot. The call is still the job. Minimum View Guarantee. Example: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Talent extra.
If you linger on kid content you will get accounts you cannot buy. Doing it by hand is kind of soul-crushing. Scout is $1,500/month.
