First calendar apps campaign checklist

Creator-powered user acquisition

A first calendar apps campaign at founder scale. Numbered so you can stop lying to yourself about which step you skipped.

  1. Confirm a live listing that talks to the calendar they already have, not a new religion actually closes. Creators cannot fix packaging.
  2. Write the avatar in a sentence: US English, 26-38, already bounced off Fantastical’s price and Google Calendar they keep despite hating it, watches ‘I paid for a calendar and still miss dentist appointments’ and time-blocking-collapse videos Sunday night.
  3. Write the problem in their mouth: I designed a perfect week on Sunday and by Wednesday I was back in Google missing the dentist.
  4. Write what they already quit: Fantastical until the subscription stung, a time-blocking YouTuber’s template, and Google Calendar they complain about weekly.
  5. Write what they watch: time-blocking collapse, Fantastical-price rants, ‘I still use Google’, Sunday-night reschedule panic.
  6. Write the reject: the CEO-of-one time-blocking creator whose calendar is a product screenshot for a course.
  7. Write adjacent so the phone does not smear: missed dentist, Sunday panic, not maker-vs-manager Twitter.
  8. Put that sentence into the brief
  9. Scroll as them on a fresh Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube account. Example to look for: someone showing a rainbow time-block week that was abandoned by Wednesday. Signal: the same Sunday-night collapse face two weeks in a row.
  10. Keep a 50k average-view floor. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
  11. Skip #calendarapp as a roster method.
  12. Email. The contact is usually in a bio under a Notion planner; say this is a calendar-app post. Name a real video. Ask for the phone number.
  13. If they won’t give a number, move on. Productivity coaches quote course prices for a calendar tour.
  14. On the call, Minimum View Guarantee. Example: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Talent extra.
  15. Send the contract while the yes is still warm. Scout $1,500 / Outreach $2,500 / Dealmaker $5,000.
  16. A working day view they can use Monday morning.
  17. Tell them what to film: add the dentist, set an alert, close it. If they needed a course, stop. Do not ask them to time-block a fake CEO week. Ask them to add the dentist and a commute.
  18. Give each creator their own code. Unique App Store codes, not a screenshot of a rainbow week.
  19. Do not run a launch day on the same morning if you wanted isolation.
  20. Two follow-ups, then stop. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.

Doing the scroll by hand is kind of soul-crushing. Like a CEO-of-one video and you will leave the dentist-appointment people. No demo. No download guarantee. You approve every creator and every rate.

Sunday-night reschedule panic already has the audience; a day view they will actually open Monday is the product.
