Car phone mounts vs a hashtag list

Creator-powered user acquisition

A hashtag list for car phone mounts is a vocabulary tool. It is not a roster. I still scroll as the person who would buy this SKU on a fresh account.

People tag #phonemount when they want brands to find them. That is a real behavior. It is also why the list looks public. Another shop emailed a version of it last Tuesday.

The person: US English, 24-40, already bounced off a vent clip that cooked a phone and a dash sticky that fell in summer, watches ‘this mount cooked my phone’ and GPS-falling-into-the-seat videos in a parking lot. They watch cooked-phone, summer-sticky-fail, GPS-in-the-seat, vent-clip-rage. Example: someone fishing a phone out of the passenger footwell at a light. The same footwell-fish face two drives.

How I actually use a tag, then ignore it

Hashtag search is cheap and fast. You will learn the words. You will also meet the 600k car-accessory reviewer who tests 15 mounts for a roundup, because that is who buys the tag.

Then I switch to the feed. Fresh account. Real phones. Linger, save, like, comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up. Ideally over 50k average views. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.

Like a car-mod channel and you will leave the parking-lot GPS people. Scout is $1,500/month because some founders will still want the list without becoming a hashtag intern.

When a hashtag is enough

If you are learning that parking-lot GPS, cooked phone, not car-mod flex is next to cooked-phone, summer-sticky-fail, GPS-in-the-seat, vent-clip-rage, a tag is enough. If you are about to spend talent money, it is not.

The tag is car-mod and 15-mount roundups.
