Claw clips vs a hashtag list

Creator-powered user acquisition

A hashtag list for claw clips is a vocabulary tool. It is not a roster. I still scroll as the person who would buy this SKU on a fresh account.

People tag #clawclip when they want brands to find them. That is a real behavior. It is also why the list looks public. Another shop emailed a version of it last Tuesday.

The person: US English, 18-30, already bounced off a claw that snaps and a cheap pack that slips by lunch, watches ‘this clip snapped in my bag’ and gym-to-shift hair videos in a car visor. They watch snapped-clip, slips-by-lunch, gym-to-shift, ‘the cute one does not hold thick hair’. Example: someone holding two halves of a clip over a car visor. The same visor-snap face two commutes.

How I actually use a tag, then ignore it

Hashtag search is cheap and fast. You will learn the words. You will also meet the 1M hair-tool GRWM who will bury a $12 clip, because that is who buys the tag.

Then I switch to the feed. Fresh account. Real phones. Linger, save, like, comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up. Ideally over 50k average views. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.

Like a salon tutorial and you will leave the visor people. Scout is $1,500/month because some founders will still want the list without becoming a hashtag intern.

When a hashtag is enough

If you are learning that gym-to-shift, thick-hair fail, not salon tutorials is next to snapped-clip, slips-by-lunch, gym-to-shift, ‘the cute one does not hold thick hair’, a tag is enough. If you are about to spend talent money, it is not.

The tag is hair-tool hauls.
