Cozy farm games vs a hashtag list

Creator-powered user acquisition

A hashtag list for cozy farm games is a vocabulary tool. It is not a roster. I still scroll as the person who would actually play the first session on a fresh account.

People tag #cozygame when they want brands to find them. That is a real behavior. It is also why the list looks public. Another shop emailed a version of it last Tuesday.

The person: US English, 22-38, already bounced off a Stardew-like that was energy-gated and a farm that was ads every harvest, watches ‘this cozy game is not cozy’ and after-work-farm videos on a couch. They watch not-cozy, energy-gate-on-harvest, after-work-farm, ‘I wanted Stardew and I got ads’. Example: someone harvesting and getting a 30-second ad in a ‘cozy’ farm. The same harvest-ad face two 9pm sessions.

How I actually use a tag, then ignore it

Hashtag search is cheap and fast. You will learn the words. You will also meet the 500k cozy-game recapper whose videos are Steam decks only, because that is who buys the tag.

Then I switch to the feed. Fresh account. Real phones. Linger, save, like, comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up. Ideally over 50k average views. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.

Like a Steam-deck flex and you will leave the phone-couch people. Scout is $1,500/month because some founders will still want the list without becoming a hashtag intern.

When a hashtag is enough

If you are learning that 9pm couch, fake-cozy ads, not Steam-deck flex is next to not-cozy, energy-gate-on-harvest, after-work-farm, ‘I wanted Stardew and I got ads’, a tag is enough. If you are about to spend talent money, it is not.

The tag is Steam-deck recappers.
