What fantasy sports apps creators charge
I do not have a rate card for fantasy sports apps and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.
The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. DFS accounts quote sportsbook rates. Move on.
The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.
Why email is where the money-sink happens
I prefer email. The contact is usually in a bio that is a league Discord or a newsletter, not a picks storefront. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”
Commissioner rants already have the audience; a waiver flow a sleepy commish can run is the product.
What not to pay for
A player-prop graphic you cannot run. Do not ask them to post locks or imply betting. Ask them to run a waiver. Skip the DFS sharp selling picks whose content is indistinguishable from gambling ads.
The tag is DFS and sportsbook affiliates; you cannot use those even if they would post.
What I actually measure
Unique App Store codes, not a picks screenshot. App Store installs with a unique custom code. No download guarantee. No demo.
If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
