How to write a feedback widget creator brief
A feedback widget creator brief is not a media-plan age band. It is a session: a person, a problem, a pattern of watch-time. I write it before I open a fresh account.
The sentence I actually scroll as: US English indie SaaS, 26-38, already bounced off Typeform they are embarrassed to send and a Canny they never triaged, watches ‘nobody fills in my Typeform’ and ‘Canny is a graveyard of votes’ videos after a churn email.
Problem in their mouth: I have 80 votes and I still do not know what to build on Monday.
Already tried: a 20-question Typeform, Canny they never triaged, and a support@ inbox that is unreadable.
Watch: Typeform-too-long, Canny-graveyard, ‘the only feedback is Twitter dunks’, churn-email panic.
Reject: the product-led-growth thread-lord selling a $799 research course.
Adjacent: churn emails, graveyard boards, not enterprise survey suites.

What to put on the page you send a creator
That later page is not the avatar brief. The avatar brief is for the phone. The creator page is: one mechanic, one CTA, one forbid list.
Mechanic: an in-app survey that is not a 20-question Typeform, or a feature-vote board a solo SaaS will actually ship from. A working widget they can paste on a real page tonight.
CTA: Paste the widget, ask one question, show the first answer.
Forbid: Do not ask them to fake a roadmap. Ask them to paste the widget and read one answer. No medical claims. No fake “not sponsored” energy when you paid them.
Paste, ask one question, see an answer. If they never open the product, the video will be a read-through of your website.
What to ignore
Follower counts, “micro vs macro,” competitor creator lists, and anything that starts with #buildinpublic. Those belong in the outreach spreadsheet, after you have names from a feed.
Also ignore “make it go viral.” An avatar brief cannot promise that. It can only promise match.
Example video to have in your head while you write: someone opening Canny to 80 votes and closing it because nothing is ranked.
Graveyard-board rants already have the audience; a three-question widget is the thing they can ship this week.
Scout is $1,500/month for the list that comes out of this brief. You approve every creator and every rate. No demo. No download guarantee.
