What film camera companion apps creators charge
I do not have a rate card for film camera companion apps and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.
The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. Film influencers quote camera-haul rates.
The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.
Why email is where the money-sink happens
I prefer email. The contact is usually in a small lab-drop bio. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”
Lost-roll-note rants already have the audience; a log they can write when they load the camera is the product.
What not to pay for
A Leica still with no roll log. Do not ask for a Leica unboxing. Ask them to log a roll at load and read it at the lab. Skip the 600k film-influencer whose grid is a Leica brand trip.
The tag is Leica-trip talent and lab affiliates.
What I actually measure
Unique App Store codes, not a Leica still. App Store installs with a unique custom code. No download guarantee. No demo.
If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
