How to write a gambling-quit app creator brief
A gambling-quit app creator brief is not a media-plan age band. It is a session: a person, a problem, a pattern of watch-time. I write it before I open a fresh account.
The sentence I actually scroll as: US English, 26-42, already bounced off site-blocking browser extensions and a paper calendar of X marks, watches ‘I lost rent on DraftKings’ and sports-bet-shame videos after a game ends.
Problem in their mouth: I self-excluded on desktop and then bet on my phone in the parking lot.
Already tried: browser blockers they sidestepped on the phone, a paper calendar of X marks, and self-exclusion they reversed in a weekend.
Watch: sports-bet shame, ‘I self-excluded and they still emailed me’, deposit-limit rants.
Reject: the sports-picks creator who is still posting locks tonight.
Adjacent: debt shame, sports-watch recap, not crypto or casino glam.

What to put on the page you send a creator
That later page is not the avatar brief. The avatar brief is for the phone. The creator page is: one mechanic, one CTA, one forbid list.
Mechanic: a blocker that sits in Screen Time, not a pep-talk journal, or a day-counter that does not moralize a slip. A live listing that is a blocker or a day-counter, not a recovery clinic.
CTA: Install the blocker, turn it on, show the Screen Time permission. That is the video.
Forbid: Do not ask them to film a rock-bottom story or a medical claim. No ‘this cured me.’. No medical claims. No fake “not sponsored” energy when you paid them.
The live App Store link, no waitlist, no coach upsell in the first screen. If they never open the product, the video will be a read-through of your website.
What to ignore
Follower counts, “micro vs macro,” competitor creator lists, and anything that starts with #problemgambling. Those belong in the outreach spreadsheet, after you have names from a feed.
Also ignore “make it go viral.” An avatar brief cannot promise that. It can only promise match.
Example video to have in your head while you write: someone showing the push notification from a sportsbook ten minutes after they self-excluded.
Quit content already has the audience; you need the people who talk about the slip, not the people selling picks.
Scout is $1,500/month for the list that comes out of this brief. You approve every creator and every rate. No demo. No download guarantee.
