Gel nail stickers vs a hashtag list
A hashtag list for gel nail stickers is a vocabulary tool. It is not a roster. I still scroll as the person who would buy this SKU on a fresh account.
People tag #nailstickers when they want brands to find them. That is a real behavior. It is also why the list looks public. Another shop emailed a version of it last Tuesday.
The person: US English, 20-34, already bounced off a salon wait and a sticker set that peeled on day two, watches ‘these peeled in the shower’ and Sunday-nail videos at a kitchen table. They watch peeled-in-shower, salon-price-rage, Sunday-kitchen-table, ‘they looked cute in the pack’. Example: someone showing a sticker half-off after a shower. The same shower-peel face two Tuesdays.
How I actually use a tag, then ignore it
Hashtag search is cheap and fast. You will learn the words. You will also meet the 1.5M nail-art account that will not use a sticker, because that is who buys the tag.
Then I switch to the feed. Fresh account. Real phones. Linger, save, like, comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up. Ideally over 50k average views. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
Like salon nail art and you will leave the kitchen-table people. Scout is $1,500/month because some founders will still want the list without becoming a hashtag intern.
When a hashtag is enough
If you are learning that Sunday table, shower peel, not salon-level nail art flex is next to peeled-in-shower, salon-price-rage, Sunday-kitchen-table, ‘they looked cute in the pack’, a tag is enough. If you are about to spend talent money, it is not.
The tag is salon-art talent and 10-set hauls.
