First guitar practice apps campaign checklist

Creator-powered user acquisition

A first guitar practice apps campaign at founder scale. Numbered so you can stop lying to yourself about which step you skipped.

  1. Confirm a live listing whose first screenshot is a riff, not a university syllabus actually closes. Creators cannot fix packaging.
  2. Write the avatar in a sentence: US English, 19-34, already bounced off Yousician streaks and a Justin Guitar tab they never finished, watches ‘I own three guitars and play none’ and messy-apartment-riff videos after 10pm.
  3. Write the problem in their mouth: I wanted to play the riff from the song and the app wanted a 20-minute lesson on my wrist.
  4. Write what they already quit: Yousician, Justin Guitar they stalled on module four, and a paper chord chart on a music stand they trip over.
  5. Write what they watch: unplayed-guitar shame, ‘Yousician felt like homework’, one-riff loops, cheap-amp bedroom clips.
  6. Write the reject: the shred YouTuber selling a $299 technique course who will not talk to a cowboy-chord adult.
  7. Write adjacent so the phone does not smear: bedroom 10pm, unplayed-guitar guilt, not Berklee flex.
  8. Put that sentence into the brief
  9. Scroll as them on a fresh Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube account. Example to look for: someone picking up a dusty Strat, opening Yousician, and putting it back after the streak lecture. Signal: the same unplayed-guitar face two weeknights in a row.
  10. Keep a 50k average-view floor. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
  11. Skip #guitartok as a roster method.
  12. Email. The contact is usually in a bio under a Teachable course; say this is an app demo. Name a real video. Ask for the phone number.
  13. If they won’t give a number, move on. Course-sellers quote academy prices for a 15-second riff.
  14. On the call, Minimum View Guarantee. Example: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Talent extra.
  15. Send the contract while the yes is still warm. Scout $1,500 / Outreach $2,500 / Dealmaker $5,000.
  16. A working loop they can hear through the phone speaker.
  17. Tell them what to film: tune, loop the riff, play it ugly. If they need a course login, stop. Do not ask for a full song cover. Ask them to loop the riff and stop.
  18. Give each creator their own code. Unique App Store codes, not a riff clip that never shows the app.
  19. Do not run a launch day on the same morning if you wanted isolation.
  20. Two follow-ups, then stop. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.

Doing the scroll by hand is kind of soul-crushing. Like one sweep-picking video and you will leave the dusty-Strat adult. No demo. No download guarantee. You approve every creator and every rate.

Unplayed-guitar shame already has the audience; a riff they can loop tonight is the thing they will film.
