First habit apps campaign checklist

Creator-powered user acquisition

A first habit apps campaign at founder scale. Numbered so you can stop lying to yourself about which step you skipped.

  1. Confirm a live App Store listing whose first screenshot shows a freeze or skip, not a flame actually closes. Creators cannot fix packaging.
  2. Write the avatar in a sentence: US English, 22-34, already bounced off Habitica and Streaks, watches ADHD morning-routine and ‘I deleted my habit app’ videos after 10pm.
  3. Write the problem in their mouth: I miss one day, the streak dies, and I delete the app before lunch.
  4. Write what they already quit: Habitica, Streaks, and a paper journal they abandoned.
  5. Write what they watch: ADHD morning routines, ‘I deleted my habit app’, shame-about-streaks.
  6. Write the reject: the 40k productivity guru whose last 12 posts are collab ads.
  7. Write adjacent so the phone does not smear: screen-time shame, ADHD mornings, not generic wellness.
  8. Put that sentence into the brief
  9. Scroll as them on a fresh Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube account. Example to look for: someone showing the streak freeze that ruined their week. Signal: the same deleted-app confessional face three times in twenty minutes.
  10. Keep a 50k average-view floor. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
  11. Skip #habittracker as a roster method.
  12. Email. The contact is usually in a link-in-bio to a Gumroad morning PDF, rarely a media kit. Name a real video. Ask for the phone number.
  13. If they won’t give a number, move on. The 8k-follower reset-your-morning accounts quote agency rates for a talking head that never shows the freeze.
  14. On the call, Minimum View Guarantee. Example: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Talent extra.
  15. Send the contract while the yes is still warm. Scout $1,500 / Outreach $2,500 / Dealmaker $5,000.
  16. TestFlight or the live listing the same day they agree.
  17. Tell them what to film: download, then skip a day on purpose so they see you are not Streaks. Do not ask them to film a 12-habit onboarding or a 4am 5am club.
  18. Give each creator their own code. Unique App Store Connect custom codes, not streak screenshots in the comments.
  19. Do not run a launch day on the same morning if you wanted isolation.
  20. Two follow-ups, then stop. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.

Doing the scroll by hand is kind of soul-crushing. You will spend three nights in ADHD morning-routine videos and contaminate your personal For You with shame content. No demo. No download guarantee. You approve every creator and every rate.

Habit apps die in silence; the people who talk about deleting them already have the audience.
