How to write a habit app creator brief

Creator-powered user acquisition

A habit app creator brief is not a media-plan age band. It is a session: a person, a problem, a pattern of watch-time. I write it before I open a fresh account.

The sentence I actually scroll as: US English, 22-34, already bounced off Habitica and Streaks, watches ADHD morning-routine and ‘I deleted my habit app’ videos after 10pm.

Problem in their mouth: I miss one day, the streak dies, and I delete the app before lunch.

Already tried: Habitica, Streaks, and a paper journal they abandoned.

Watch: ADHD morning routines, ‘I deleted my habit app’, shame-about-streaks.

Reject: the 40k productivity guru whose last 12 posts are collab ads.

Adjacent: screen-time shame, ADHD mornings, not generic wellness.

What to put on the page you send a creator

That later page is not the avatar brief. The avatar brief is for the phone. The creator page is: one mechanic, one CTA, one forbid list.

Mechanic: Streaks-killers, or a log that doesn’t punish a missed day. A live App Store listing whose first screenshot shows a freeze or skip, not a flame.

CTA: Download, then skip a day on purpose so they see you are not Streaks.

Forbid: Do not ask them to film a 12-habit onboarding or a 4am 5am club. No medical claims. No fake “not sponsored” energy when you paid them.

TestFlight or the live listing the same day they agree. If they never open the product, the video will be a read-through of your website.

What to ignore

Follower counts, “micro vs macro,” competitor creator lists, and anything that starts with #habittracker. Those belong in the outreach spreadsheet, after you have names from a feed.

Also ignore “make it go viral.” An avatar brief cannot promise that. It can only promise match.

Example video to have in your head while you write: someone showing the streak freeze that ruined their week.

Habit apps die in silence; the people who talk about deleting them already have the audience.

Scout is $1,500/month for the list that comes out of this brief. You approve every creator and every rate. No demo. No download guarantee.
