Habit apps vs a hashtag list

Creator-powered user acquisition

A hashtag list for habit apps is a vocabulary tool. It is not a roster. I still scroll as the person who would download this on a fresh account.

People tag #habittracker when they want brands to find them. That is a real behavior. It is also why the list looks public. Another shop emailed a version of it last Tuesday.

The person: US English, 22-34, already bounced off Habitica and Streaks, watches ADHD morning-routine and ‘I deleted my habit app’ videos after 10pm. They watch ADHD morning routines, ‘I deleted my habit app’, shame-about-streaks. Example: someone showing the streak freeze that ruined their week. The same deleted-app confessional face three times in twenty minutes.

How I actually use a tag, then ignore it

Hashtag search is cheap and fast. You will learn the words. You will also meet the 40k productivity guru whose last 12 posts are collab ads, because that is who buys the tag.

Then I switch to the feed. Fresh account. Real phones. Linger, save, like, comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up. Ideally over 50k average views. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.

You will spend three nights in ADHD morning-routine videos and contaminate your personal For You with shame content. Scout is $1,500/month because some founders will still want the list without becoming a hashtag intern.

When a hashtag is enough

If you are learning that screen-time shame, ADHD mornings, not generic wellness is next to ADHD morning routines, ‘I deleted my habit app’, shame-about-streaks, a tag is enough. If you are about to spend talent money, it is not.

The catalog is full of wellness coaches who never shipped a utility and want a 30-day morning-routine series.
