How to write a home scent brand creator brief

Creator-powered user acquisition

A home scent brand creator brief is not a media-plan age band. It is a session: a person, a problem, a pattern of watch-time. I write it before I open a fresh account.

The sentence I actually scroll as: the client’s customer is US English, 24-38, already bounced off a grocery vanilla they are bored of and a candle that sooted the wall, watches ‘this candle sooted my wall’ and Sunday-reset-scent videos while they clean.

Problem in their mouth: It looked like a sculpture and it left a crescent on the wall.

Already tried: a grocery vanilla, a pretty candle that sooted, and a diffuser they never refilled.

Watch: soot-on-wall, Sunday-reset, ‘grocery vanilla is sad’, throw-vs-looks.

Reject: the 1M lifestyle creator whose house is a set.

Adjacent: Sunday reset, soot rage, not mansion tours.

What to put on the page you send a creator

That later page is not the avatar brief. The avatar brief is for the phone. The creator page is: one mechanic, one CTA, one forbid list.

Mechanic: a live candle in the current scent, or a diffuser oil that is in stock. The client’s live shop with the current scent in stock.

CTA: Light it in the real room, show the throw, drop the code.

Forbid: Do not ask for a mansion reset. Ask them to burn it in the room they actually live in. No medical claims. No fake “not sponsored” energy when you paid them.

The candle lit in a real room, not a set. If they never open the product, the video will be a read-through of your website.

What to ignore

Follower counts, “micro vs macro,” competitor creator lists, and anything that starts with #candles. Those belong in the outreach spreadsheet, after you have names from a feed.

Also ignore “make it go viral.” An avatar brief cannot promise that. It can only promise match.

Example video to have in your head while you write: someone pointing at a black crescent on the wall above a pretty jar.

Soot rants and Sunday-reset already have the audience; a live scent they will actually burn is the demo.

Scout is $1,500/month for the list that comes out of this brief. You approve every creator and every rate. No demo. No download guarantee.
