How to find indie skincare brands TikTok creators
I scroll Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube under a fresh account if I’m looking for indie skincare brands creators. I try to put myself in the shoes of your client’s customer: the client’s customer is US English, 26-38, already bounced off The Ordinary they used like a chemistry set and a derm-ticket they cannot get, watches ‘I wrecked my barrier’ and ‘The Ordinary confused me’ videos at the bathroom mirror after 10pm. Then I linger, save, like, and comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up.
I do not open #skincare and call the spreadsheet research.
They watch barrier wreck, Ordinary-confusion, ‘I do not need another 12-step’, bathroom-mirror routines. They already tried The Ordinary as a chemistry set, a dermatologist waitlist, and a Sephora haul they used twice. Adjacent is barrier repair talk, bathroom 10pm, not 12-step hauls. Skip the 2M beauty creator whose last 30 posts are PR unboxings.
Ideally over 50k average. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink.
What keeps showing up in this feed
The same barrier-wreck face two bathroom nights. The example I want in my head: someone holding eight Ordinary bottles and a red face.
Barrier-wreck videos already have the client’s audience; a simple live SKU can sit in that rant if you do not claim a cure.
Doing this by hand is kind of soul-crushing. If the shop scrolls as a 12-step haul they will get PR faces the client already cannot afford. That is why I automated the scrolling. Scout is $1,500/month for the list.
The long method essay is How we find creators by scrolling a real TikTok avatar. I wrote the first-person version at How I find influencers.
Reject list, written down
Write the reject before you scroll: the 2M beauty creator whose last 30 posts are PR unboxings. Also skip anyone whose last dozen posts are collab ads and who has never talked about barrier wreck, Ordinary-confusion, ‘I do not need another 12-step’, bathroom-mirror routines.
If they only exist under #skincare, they wanted brands to find them. That is not who is being served to your client’s customer tonight.
50k floor
I want roughly 50k average views because the economics will not work otherwise. PR-unboxing faces quote brand-deal rates the client’s margin cannot eat. $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from. One no is not the campaign.
Where JumpTrend sits
Scout $1,500 / Outreach $2,500 / Dealmaker $5,000 per month. Creator fees extra. No demo. No download guarantee. You approve every creator and every rate.
