What indie skincare brands creators charge
I do not have a rate card for indie skincare brands and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.
The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. PR-unboxing faces quote brand-deal rates the client’s margin cannot eat.
The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.
Why email is where the money-sink happens
I prefer email. The contact is usually in a Linktree that is not 40 other serums this week. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”
Barrier-wreck videos already have the client’s audience; a simple live SKU can sit in that rant if you do not claim a cure.
What not to pay for
A 12-step haul that buries the client’s one SKU. Do not ask for a medical claim or a 12-step. Ask them to use the one live SKU. Skip the 2M beauty creator whose last 30 posts are PR unboxings.
The catalog is PR-unboxing talent who will not read a barrier story.
What I actually measure
Unique codes on a live SKU, not a bathroom routine with no product in frame. Product page visits and codes on a live SKU, not a waitlist. No download guarantee. No demo.
If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
