How to write an interior paint brand creator brief

Creator-powered user acquisition

An interior paint brand creator brief is not a media-plan age band. It is a session: a person, a problem, a pattern of watch-time. I write it before I open a fresh account.

The sentence I actually scroll as: the client’s customer is US English, 28-44, already bounced off a big-box color that looked different at night and a designer they cannot afford, watches ‘this gray is sad at 6pm’ and sample-board videos in a half-painted room.

Problem in their mouth: The chip looked like a cloud in the store and at 6pm the room is a cave.

Already tried: a big-box gray that died at 6pm, a designer quote they cannot afford, and peel-and-stick samples that peeled.

Watch: sad-gray-at-6pm, sample-boards, ‘the big-box chip lied’, half-painted-room panic.

Reject: the 1M interior-design creator whose house is a full gut.

Adjacent: half-painted rooms, 6pm gray, not mansion makeovers.

What to put on the page you send a creator

That later page is not the avatar brief. The avatar brief is for the phone. The creator page is: one mechanic, one CTA, one forbid list.

Mechanic: a live gallon in the current color, or a sample that ships this week. The client’s live color with a real sample SKU.

CTA: Sample on the wall at 6pm, show the live gallon, drop the code.

Forbid: Do not ask for a full-house reveal. Ask them to put the sample on the wall at 6pm. No medical claims. No fake “not sponsored” energy when you paid them.

A sample on a real wall at 6pm, not a studio swatch. If they never open the product, the video will be a read-through of your website.

What to ignore

Follower counts, “micro vs macro,” competitor creator lists, and anything that starts with #paint. Those belong in the outreach spreadsheet, after you have names from a feed.

Also ignore “make it go viral.” An avatar brief cannot promise that. It can only promise match.

Example video to have in your head while you write: someone showing the chip in daylight and the wall at 6pm.

Sad-gray rants already have the audience; a sample that ships this week is the demo.

Scout is $1,500/month for the list that comes out of this brief. You approve every creator and every rate. No demo. No download guarantee.
