How to find language learning apps TikTok creators
I scroll Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube under a fresh account if I’m looking for language learning apps creators. I try to put myself in the shoes of the person who would download this: US English, 20-32, already bounced off Duolingo streaks and a dusty Anki deck, watches ‘I studied Spanish for four years and cannot order food’ and immersion-shame videos on the commute. Then I linger, save, like, and comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up.
I do not open #languagelearning and call the spreadsheet research.
They watch Duolingo hate, immersion vlogs, ‘I froze at the counter’, comprehensible input arguments. They already tried Duolingo, Anki they abandoned after 800 cards, and a community college night class they ghosted. Adjacent is travel shame, subtitle arguments, not kids’ alphabet songs. Skip the polyglot with a wall of flags who is selling a $199 method.
Ideally over 50k average. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink.
What keeps showing up in this feed
The same ‘four years and cannot order food’ face on two commutes. The example I want in my head: someone screenshotting a 1200-day Duolingo streak and then failing a simple greeting.
The anti-Duolingo rant is already a genre; an app that drills the sentence they actually need can ride that rant without becoming another owl.
Doing this by hand is kind of soul-crushing. One like on a polyglot flags video and the phone will serve courses for a month. That is why I automated the scrolling. Scout is $1,500/month for the list.
The long method essay is How we find creators by scrolling a real TikTok avatar. I wrote the first-person version at How I find influencers.
Reject list, written down
Write the reject before you scroll: the polyglot with a wall of flags who is selling a $199 method. Also skip anyone whose last dozen posts are collab ads and who has never talked about Duolingo hate, immersion vlogs, ‘I froze at the counter’, comprehensible input arguments.
If they only exist under #languagelearning, they wanted brands to find them. That is not who is being served to the person who would download this tonight.
50k floor
I want roughly 50k average views because the economics will not work otherwise. Method-sellers quote course prices because that is their real product. $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from. One no is not the campaign.
