First lifting log apps campaign checklist

Creator-powered user acquisition

A first lifting log apps campaign at founder scale. Numbered so you can stop lying to yourself about which step you skipped.

  1. Confirm a live listing whose first screenshot is the last session, not a social feed actually closes. Creators cannot fix packaging.
  2. Write the avatar in a sentence: US English, 22-34, already bounced off Strong’s subscription nag and a notes-app graveyard of PRs, watches ‘I forgot what I hit last week’ and commercial-gym-crowding videos between sets.
  3. Write the problem in their mouth: The rack opened up and I was still looking for last Thursday’s set.
  4. Write what they already quit: Strong until the paywall, Hevy they opened for a week, and the iOS Notes graveyard.
  5. Write what they watch: forgotten last-week numbers, commercial-gym crowding, ‘Strong wants $30 a year for a spreadsheet’, beginner-plate-math.
  6. Write the reject: the enhanced 5am gym influencer whose stack is a storefront.
  7. Write adjacent so the phone does not smear: commercial gym at 6pm, plate math, not bodybuilding stage prep.
  8. Put that sentence into the brief
  9. Scroll as them on a fresh Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube account. Example to look for: someone standing at the bar, scrolling Notes, and losing the rack. Signal: the same between-set Notes-scroll face two evenings in a row.
  10. Keep a 50k average-view floor. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
  11. Skip #gymapp as a roster method.
  12. Email. The contact is usually in a bio under a training-program Payhip; say this is an app demo, not a program collab. Name a real video. Ask for the phone number.
  13. If they won’t give a number, move on. Program-sellers quote coaching rates for a single talking-head.
  14. On the call, Minimum View Guarantee. Example: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Talent extra.
  15. Send the contract while the yes is still warm. Scout $1,500 / Outreach $2,500 / Dealmaker $5,000.
  16. A working log they can use on tonight’s session without an account wall mid-set.
  17. Tell them what to film: open last week’s squat, add this set, lock the phone, lift. Do not ask for a transformation. Ask them to log a working set and show last week’s number.
  18. Give each creator their own code. Unique App Store codes, not a form-check duet with your watermark.
  19. Do not run a launch day on the same morning if you wanted isolation.
  20. Two follow-ups, then stop. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.

Doing the scroll by hand is kind of soul-crushing. Like one enhanced physique video and you will never see a commercial-gym beginner again. No demo. No download guarantee. You approve every creator and every rate.

Between-set rants already have the audience; last-time’s numbers on one screen is the thing they reach for when the rack is free.
