First link-in-bio tools campaign checklist

Creator-powered user acquisition

A first link-in-bio tools campaign at founder scale. Numbered so you can stop lying to yourself about which step you skipped.

  1. Confirm a working bio page they can edit from a phone tonight actually closes. Creators cannot fix packaging.
  2. Write the avatar in a sentence: US English small creator, 21-34, already bounced off Linktree’s branded splash and a Carrd they cannot update from a phone, watches ‘Linktree looks like an ad now’ and ‘I have to update this from a laptop’ videos after a post pops.
  3. Write the problem in their mouth: My bio looks like an ad for the bio tool.
  4. Write what they already quit: Linktree they resent, Carrd they cannot edit on a phone, and a single link they keep changing and breaking.
  5. Write what they watch: Linktree-branding hate, ‘I cannot update from my phone’, bio-link-as-ad, tiny-shop grids.
  6. Write the reject: the 400k ‘creator tools’ roundup whose last 20 videos are affiliate Linktrees.
  7. Write adjacent so the phone does not smear: tiny shops, phone editing, not enterprise link management.
  8. Put that sentence into the brief
  9. Scroll as them on a fresh Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube account. Example to look for: someone opening their own bio and seeing three upgrade banners before the actual link. Signal: the same bio-banner-hate face after two popped posts.
  10. Keep a 50k average-view floor. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
  11. Skip #linkinbio as a roster method.
  12. Email. The contact is usually in the dirty Linktree itself, often a gmail on the last block. Name a real video. Ask for the phone number.
  13. If they won’t give a number, move on. Roundup accounts quote affiliate rates.
  14. On the call, Minimum View Guarantee. Example: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Talent extra.
  15. Send the contract while the yes is still warm. Scout $1,500 / Outreach $2,500 / Dealmaker $5,000.
  16. Publish a page, no branded splash on the free view you claim is clean.
  17. Tell them what to film: replace the bio, open it in incognito, show no upgrade banner. Do not ask for a 40-tool roundup. Ask them to replace the bio and screenshot the clean page.
  18. Give each creator their own code. Unique signup links, not a roundup shoutout.
  19. Do not run a launch day on the same morning if you wanted isolation.
  20. Two follow-ups, then stop. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.

Doing the scroll by hand is kind of soul-crushing. Like a 400k creator-tools roundup and you will never see a 8k shop grid. No demo. No download guarantee. You approve every creator and every rate.

Bio-link hate is already a genre among small creators; a clean phone-editable page is the demo they will film.
