How to find lip gloss TikTok creators
I scroll Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube under a fresh account if I’m looking for lip gloss creators. I try to put myself in the shoes of the person who would buy this SKU: US English, 18-28, already bounced off a sticky drugstore gloss and a hyped shade that sold out before they got paid, watches ‘this gloss is sticky’ and bathroom-mirror-shade videos after school or a shift. Then I linger, save, like, and comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up.
I do not open #lipgloss and call the spreadsheet research.
They watch sticky-gloss, sold-out-shade, bathroom-mirror swatches, ‘I bought the hyped one and it is glue’. They already tried a sticky drugstore gloss, a hyped shade that sold out, and a balm they wish was glossier. Adjacent is bathroom swatches, sticky-hate, not full glam tutorials. Skip the 3M GRWM who will bury the gloss in 40 other PR items.
Ideally over 50k average. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink.
What keeps showing up in this feed
The same sticky-string face two bathroom nights. The example I want in my head: someone pressing lips together and showing a string of gloss.
Sticky-gloss rants already have the audience; a live $14 shade they can actually check out is the only SKU worth briefing.
Doing this by hand is kind of soul-crushing. Like a full glam and you will leave the sticky-rant. That is why I automated the scrolling. Scout is $1,500/month for the list.
The long method essay is How we find creators by scrolling a real TikTok avatar. I wrote the first-person version at How I find influencers.
Reject list, written down
Write the reject before you scroll: the 3M GRWM who will bury the gloss in 40 other PR items. Also skip anyone whose last dozen posts are collab ads and who has never talked about sticky-gloss, sold-out-shade, bathroom-mirror swatches, ‘I bought the hyped one and it is glue’.
If they only exist under #lipgloss, they wanted brands to find them. That is not who is being served to the person who would buy this SKU tonight.
50k floor
I want roughly 50k average views because the economics will not work otherwise. GRWM accounts quote beauty-haul rates on a $14 SKU. $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from. One no is not the campaign.
