What lip gloss creators charge
I do not have a rate card for lip gloss and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.
The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. GRWM accounts quote beauty-haul rates on a $14 SKU.
The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.
Why email is where the money-sink happens
I prefer email. The contact is usually in a small swatch-account bio, not a PR house. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”
Sticky-gloss rants already have the audience; a live $14 shade they can actually check out is the only SKU worth briefing.
What not to pay for
A GRWM with the gloss on screen for one second. Do not ask for a 40-item GRWM. Ask them to wear the live shade to a shift. Skip the 3M GRWM who will bury the gloss in 40 other PR items.
The catalog is GRWM talent who will add you as item 37.
What I actually measure
Unique codes or Shop sales, not a swatch with no checkout. TikTok Shop or site codes on a live shade. No download guarantee. No demo.
If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
