How to write a meal kit brand creator brief
A meal kit brand creator brief is not a media-plan age band. It is a session: a person, a problem, a pattern of watch-time. I write it before I open a fresh account.
The sentence I actually scroll as: the client’s customer is US English, 28-42, already bounced off HelloFresh they cancelled after the fridge filled with plastic and a grocery delivery that still required cooking at 8pm, watches ‘I cancelled HelloFresh’ and 8pm-what-is-for-dinner videos after work.
Problem in their mouth: I paid to fill the fridge with plastic I threw away on Thursday.
Already tried: HelloFresh they cancelled, a grocery delivery that still meant 8pm cooking, and frozen trays they felt sad eating.
Watch: HelloFresh-cancel, 8pm-dinner-panic, fridge-full-of-plastic, ‘I still had to cook’.
Reject: the homesteading creator who will mock a kit on principle.
Adjacent: 8pm panic, plastic-fridge shame, not homestead flex.

What to put on the page you send a creator
That later page is not the avatar brief. The avatar brief is for the phone. The creator page is: one mechanic, one CTA, one forbid list.
Mechanic: a live 3-meal box that arrives on the day they claim, or a SKU that is not a freezer mystery. The client’s live subscription page, real delivery window.
CTA: Open Tuesday’s bag at 8pm, cook it, drop the code. Show the empty fridge after.
Forbid: Do not ask them to cook a 90-minute recipe. Ask them to cook Tuesday’s bag after work. No medical claims. No fake “not sponsored” energy when you paid them.
A real box on camera, not a studio kitchen with a competitor’s bag blurred. If they never open the product, the video will be a read-through of your website.
What to ignore
Follower counts, “micro vs macro,” competitor creator lists, and anything that starts with #mealkit. Those belong in the outreach spreadsheet, after you have names from a feed.
Also ignore “make it go viral.” An avatar brief cannot promise that. It can only promise match.
Example video to have in your head while you write: someone opening a fridge of uncooked kit bags on trash night.
Cancel-rants already have the audience; a 3-meal box that actually gets eaten is the demo.
Scout is $1,500/month for the list that comes out of this brief. You approve every creator and every rate. No demo. No download guarantee.
