First meditation apps campaign checklist

Creator-powered user acquisition

A first meditation apps campaign at founder scale. Numbered so you can stop lying to yourself about which step you skipped.

  1. Confirm a live listing whose first screenshot is a timer, not a library of 400 courses actually closes. Creators cannot fix packaging.
  2. Write the avatar in a sentence: US English, 27-40, already bounced off Headspace subscriptions and a singing-bowl they used twice, watches ‘meditation apps made me worse’ and panic-at-2am videos with the phone brightness down.
  3. Write the problem in their mouth: The voice started talking about my inner child and I closed the app angrier than I opened it.
  4. Write what they already quit: Headspace, Calm’s sleep stories they skipped, and a singing bowl in a closet.
  5. Write what they watch: Headspace cancellation rants, panic-at-2am, ‘guided voice I cannot stand’, silent-timer demos.
  6. Write the reject: the 500k breathwork coach selling a retreat in the caption of every sit.
  7. Write adjacent so the phone does not smear: insomnia adjacent, not manifestation or crystal shops.
  8. Put that sentence into the brief
  9. Scroll as them on a fresh Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube account. Example to look for: someone muting a guided voice 40 seconds in and just staring at a clock. Signal: the same mute-the-guide face after midnight, twice in a week.
  10. Keep a 50k average-view floor. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
  11. Skip #meditationapp as a roster method.
  12. Email. The contact is usually in a bio that also books 1:1 coaching; say you are buying a timer demo, not a package. Name a real video. Ask for the phone number.
  13. If they won’t give a number, move on. Retreat sellers quote wellness-brand rates for a talking-head sit.
  14. On the call, Minimum View Guarantee. Example: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Talent extra.
  15. Send the contract while the yes is still warm. Scout $1,500 / Outreach $2,500 / Dealmaker $5,000.
  16. A working sit they can finish tonight without an account wall.
  17. Tell them what to film: open the timer, sit two minutes, no voice. If they cannot start without an account, stop. Do not ask them to film a 20-minute sit or a before-after glow. Ask them to start the timer and shut up.
  18. Give each creator their own code. Unique App Store codes, not a ‘I needed this’ comment under a panic video.
  19. Do not run a launch day on the same morning if you wanted isolation.
  20. Two follow-ups, then stop. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.

Doing the scroll by hand is kind of soul-crushing. Like one manifestation video and you will never see a silent sit again. No demo. No download guarantee. You approve every creator and every rate.

The people who hate the guided voice already have the audience; a silent timer is the punchline they can film.
