How to write a meditation app creator brief

Creator-powered user acquisition

A meditation app creator brief is not a media-plan age band. It is a session: a person, a problem, a pattern of watch-time. I write it before I open a fresh account.

The sentence I actually scroll as: US English, 27-40, already bounced off Headspace subscriptions and a singing-bowl they used twice, watches ‘meditation apps made me worse’ and panic-at-2am videos with the phone brightness down.

Problem in their mouth: The voice started talking about my inner child and I closed the app angrier than I opened it.

Already tried: Headspace, Calm’s sleep stories they skipped, and a singing bowl in a closet.

Watch: Headspace cancellation rants, panic-at-2am, ‘guided voice I cannot stand’, silent-timer demos.

Reject: the 500k breathwork coach selling a retreat in the caption of every sit.

Adjacent: insomnia adjacent, not manifestation or crystal shops.

What to put on the page you send a creator

That later page is not the avatar brief. The avatar brief is for the phone. The creator page is: one mechanic, one CTA, one forbid list.

Mechanic: a timer that does not talk, or a two-minute sit that is not a 40-hour course. A live listing whose first screenshot is a timer, not a library of 400 courses.

CTA: Open the timer, sit two minutes, no voice. If they cannot start without an account, stop.

Forbid: Do not ask them to film a 20-minute sit or a before-after glow. Ask them to start the timer and shut up. No medical claims. No fake “not sponsored” energy when you paid them.

A working sit they can finish tonight without an account wall. If they never open the product, the video will be a read-through of your website.

What to ignore

Follower counts, “micro vs macro,” competitor creator lists, and anything that starts with #meditationapp. Those belong in the outreach spreadsheet, after you have names from a feed.

Also ignore “make it go viral.” An avatar brief cannot promise that. It can only promise match.

Example video to have in your head while you write: someone muting a guided voice 40 seconds in and just staring at a clock.

The people who hate the guided voice already have the audience; a silent timer is the punchline they can film.

Scout is $1,500/month for the list that comes out of this brief. You approve every creator and every rate. No demo. No download guarantee.
