How to find newsletter tools TikTok creators

Creator-powered user acquisition

I scroll Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube under a fresh account if I’m looking for newsletter tools creators. I try to put myself in the shoes of the person who would pay for this tool: US English writer, 26-40, already bounced off Substack’s discovery they never got and Mailchimp’s editor they hate, watches ‘Substack took a cut and gave me no readers’ and ‘I still write in Notes’ videos on Sunday afternoon. Then I linger, save, like, and comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up.

I do not open #newsletter and call the spreadsheet research.

They watch Substack-cut rants, Mailchimp-editor hate, ‘I have 400 true fans’, Notes-to-email workflows. They already tried Substack they feel taxed by, Mailchimp they open with dread, and a Google Doc they paste into Gmail. Adjacent is 400 true fans, Sunday writing, not venture-scale media brands. Skip the 200k creator-economy guru whose last 10 posts are course ads about newsletters they do not send.

Ideally over 50k average. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink.

What keeps showing up in this feed

The same Sunday-writing face two weeks in a row. The example I want in my head: someone exporting a CSV from Substack and still not knowing where to go.

Substack-cut rants already have the audience; a send they can do from a markdown box is the product.

Doing this by hand is kind of soul-crushing. Like a media-brand launch and you will leave the 400-subscriber writer. That is why I automated the scrolling. Scout is $1,500/month for the list.

The long method essay is How we find creators by scrolling a real TikTok avatar. I wrote the first-person version at How I find influencers.

Reject list, written down

Write the reject before you scroll: the 200k creator-economy guru whose last 10 posts are course ads about newsletters they do not send. Also skip anyone whose last dozen posts are collab ads and who has never talked about Substack-cut rants, Mailchimp-editor hate, ‘I have 400 true fans’, Notes-to-email workflows.

If they only exist under #newsletter, they wanted brands to find them. That is not who is being served to the person who would pay for this tool tonight.

50k floor

I want roughly 50k average views because the economics will not work otherwise. Creator-economy gurus quote course prices for a tool mention. $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.

If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from. One no is not the campaign.
