How to write a notes app creator brief
A notes app creator brief is not a media-plan age band. It is a session: a person, a problem, a pattern of watch-time. I write it before I open a fresh account.
The sentence I actually scroll as: US English, 24-36, already bounced off Notion they use as a graveyard and Roam they felt dumb inside of, watches ‘my second brain is a junk drawer’ and Apple-Notes-is-enough videos on the train.
Problem in their mouth: I have a second brain and I still text myself the address.
Already tried: Notion as a graveyard, Roam they felt dumb inside of, and Apple Notes they keep returning to in meetings.
Watch: second-brain collapse, ‘I built a system I do not open’, Apple Notes defense, PKM-shame.
Reject: the 80k PKM YouTuber whose last 15 videos are the same PARA recap with a new sponsor.
Adjacent: meeting capture, junk-drawer shame, not Zettelkasten flex.

What to put on the page you send a creator
That later page is not the avatar brief. The avatar brief is for the phone. The creator page is: one mechanic, one CTA, one forbid list.
Mechanic: a fast inbox that is not a second brain, or a note that syncs without a graph view. A live listing whose first screenshot is a blank note that saves in under a second.
CTA: Type the address, close it, find it. If they needed a graph, you overbuilt.
Forbid: Do not ask for a full PKM rebuild. Ask them to capture one address and find it later. No medical claims. No fake “not sponsored” energy when you paid them.
A working inbox they can use in a meeting without a tutorial. If they never open the product, the video will be a read-through of your website.
What to ignore
Follower counts, “micro vs macro,” competitor creator lists, and anything that starts with #notetaking. Those belong in the outreach spreadsheet, after you have names from a feed.
Also ignore “make it go viral.” An avatar brief cannot promise that. It can only promise match.
Example video to have in your head while you write: someone opening a Notion workspace with 400 empty pages to find one address.
Junk-drawer rants already have the audience; a fast inbox is the punchline they can film on the train.
Scout is $1,500/month for the list that comes out of this brief. You approve every creator and every rate. No demo. No download guarantee.
