What notes apps creators charge
I do not have a rate card for notes apps and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.
The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. PKM educators quote course prices for a desk tour.
The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.
Why email is where the money-sink happens
I prefer email. The contact is usually in a bio under a second-brain cohort; say this is an app inbox demo. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”
Junk-drawer rants already have the audience; a fast inbox is the punchline they can film on the train.
What not to pay for
A cinematic desk setup with no capture in the first 10 seconds. Do not ask for a full PKM rebuild. Ask them to capture one address and find it later. Skip the 80k PKM YouTuber whose last 15 videos are the same PARA recap with a new sponsor.
The tag is PKM course-sellers; they will not demo a boring inbox.
What I actually measure
Unique App Store codes, not a setup tour with 40 plugins. App Store installs with a unique custom code. No download guarantee. No demo.
If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
