What outdoor apparel brands creators charge

Creator-powered user acquisition

I do not have a rate card for outdoor apparel brands and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.

The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. Brand-trip talent quote outdoor-apparel campaign rates.

The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.

Why email is where the money-sink happens

I prefer email. The contact is usually in a small hiker bio, not a talent agency. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”

Wet-out rants already have the audience; a jacket that is actually in stock in their size is the demo.

What not to pay for

A drone summit with no rain. Do not ask for a summit. Ask them to walk in rain in the size that is in stock. Skip the 600k trail influencer whose grid is brand trips.

The tag is brand-trip talent and gorpcore hauls.

What I actually measure

Unique codes, not a summit clip with 8 other logos. Codes on a live size/color SKU. No download guarantee. No demo.

If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
