First phone cases campaign checklist

Creator-powered user acquisition

A first phone cases campaign at founder scale. Numbered so you can stop lying to yourself about which step you skipped.

  1. Confirm a live case for the current iPhone, MagSafe named, in stock actually closes. Creators cannot fix packaging.
  2. Write the avatar in a sentence: US English, 18-32, already bounced off a case that yellowed and a cheap one that cracked on a drop, watches ‘this case yellowed in a month’ and drop-test videos on a sidewalk.
  3. Write the problem in their mouth: It was clear in the listing and it is yellow in my pocket, and the buttons miss.
  4. Write what they already quit: a case that yellowed, a cheap one that cracked, and an official case they would not pay for.
  5. Write what they watch: yellowed-case, cracked-on-drop, MagSafe-misalign, ‘it said for my phone and the buttons miss’.
  6. Write the reject: the 1M case-haul who films 20 colors and never drops one.
  7. Write adjacent so the phone does not smear: sidewalk drop, yellowing, not fashion-case hauls.
  8. Put that sentence into the brief
  9. Scroll as them on a fresh Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube account. Example to look for: someone holding a yellowed clear case next to a new phone. Signal: the same yellowed-clear face two sidewalk videos.
  10. Keep a 50k average-view floor. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
  11. Skip #phonecase as a roster method.
  12. Email. The contact is usually in a small everyday-phone bio. Name a real video. Ask for the phone number.
  13. If they won’t give a number, move on. Case-haul accounts quote fashion rates.
  14. On the call, Minimum View Guarantee. Example: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Talent extra.
  15. Send the contract while the yes is still warm. Scout $1,500 / Outreach $2,500 / Dealmaker $5,000.
  16. The case on the current phone, a real drop onto a sidewalk they accept.
  17. Tell them what to film: case on the current phone, MagSafe wallet test, pocket-height drop, drop the code. Do not ask for 20 colors. Ask them to put it on the current phone and drop it from pocket height.
  18. Give each creator their own code. Unique codes, not a 20-color dump.
  19. Do not run a launch day on the same morning if you wanted isolation.
  20. Two follow-ups, then stop. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.

Doing the scroll by hand is kind of soul-crushing. Like a fashion-case haul and you will leave the yellowed-clear people. No demo. No download guarantee. You approve every creator and every rate.

Yellowing rants already have the audience; a live MagSafe case for the current model is the demo.
