First phone tripods campaign checklist

Creator-powered user acquisition

A first phone tripods campaign at founder scale. Numbered so you can stop lying to yourself about which step you skipped.

  1. Confirm a live tripod that names current phone compatibility actually closes. Creators cannot fix packaging.
  2. Write the avatar in a sentence: US English, 20-32, already bounced off a wobbly Amazon tripod and a friend holding the phone, watches ‘this tripod wobbled and ruined the take’ and kitchen-counter-filming videos after a failed Reel.
  3. Write the problem in their mouth: The take was good and the last three seconds are ceiling.
  4. Write what they already quit: a wobbly Amazon tripod, a friend holding the phone, and a clamp that does not fit a case.
  5. Write what they watch: wobbly-take, kitchen-counter-filming, ‘my friend is tired of holding it’, case-fit-fail.
  6. Write the reject: the 800k gear-reviewer who tests 12 tripods for a roundup fee.
  7. Write adjacent so the phone does not smear: kitchen-counter Reels, wobble, not cinema-rig flex.
  8. Put that sentence into the brief
  9. Scroll as them on a fresh Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube account. Example to look for: someone’s talking-head slowly tilting out of frame. Signal: the same tilted-take face two failed Reels.
  10. Keep a 50k average-view floor. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
  11. Skip #tripod as a roster method.
  12. Email. The contact is usually in a small creator-gear bio with few affiliate links. Name a real video. Ask for the phone number.
  13. If they won’t give a number, move on. Gear-reviewers quote roundup rates.
  14. On the call, Minimum View Guarantee. Example: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Talent extra.
  15. Send the contract while the yes is still warm. Scout $1,500 / Outreach $2,500 / Dealmaker $5,000.
  16. The tripod on a kitchen counter filming a real take.
  17. Tell them what to film: clamp a cased phone, film a take, show it stays, drop the code. Do not ask for a 12-product roundup. Ask them to film a take that stays in frame.
  18. Give each creator their own code. Unique codes, not a 12-tripod roundup.
  19. Do not run a launch day on the same morning if you wanted isolation.
  20. Two follow-ups, then stop. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.

Doing the scroll by hand is kind of soul-crushing. Like a cinema-rig and you will leave the kitchen-counter people. No demo. No download guarantee. You approve every creator and every rate.

Wobbly-take rants already have the audience; a live clamp that fits a cased iPhone is the demo.
