What mobile photography apps creators charge
I do not have a rate card for mobile photography apps and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.
The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. Preset sellers quote pack-launch rates because that is the SKU.
The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.
Why email is where the money-sink happens
I prefer email. The contact is usually in a bio that is a Gumroad pack; write that you are buying a camera-app demo. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”
Recipe videos already have the audience; a camera that bakes one look in is the thing they can open on the walk.
What not to pay for
A 20-photo dump with no shutter from your app. Do not ask them to sell a pack in your video. Ask them to shoot one walk in the app. Skip the preset-pack seller whose whole grid is the same orange skin.
The tag is preset sellers and Lightroom educators; they want pack affiliates, not a camera app.
What I actually measure
Unique App Store codes, not a photo dump that never names the app. App Store installs with a unique custom code. No download guarantee. No demo.
If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
