Proposal tools vs a hashtag list

Creator-powered user acquisition

A hashtag list for proposal tools is a vocabulary tool. It is not a roster. I still scroll as the person who would pay for this tool on a fresh account.

People tag #freelancer when they want brands to find them. That is a real behavior. It is also why the list looks public. Another shop emailed a version of it last Tuesday.

The person: US English freelancer, 27-41, already bounced off a Google Doc they export to PDF and PandaDoc’s price, watches ‘the proposal is still a Doc’ and ‘they asked for a PDF and I lost two hours’ videos the night before a bid is due. They watch Doc-to-PDF pain, PandaDoc-price, ‘they ghosted after the 20-pager’, last-night bid panic. Example: someone exporting a Doc at 11pm and finding the pricing table broke. The same 11pm-export face two bid nights.

How I actually use a tag, then ignore it

Hashtag search is cheap and fast. You will learn the words. You will also meet the agency-YouTuber selling a $2k proposal template pack, because that is who buys the tag.

Then I switch to the feed. Fresh account. Real phones. Linger, save, like, comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up. Ideally over 50k average views. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.

Like a 50-person agency vlog and you will leave the 11pm freelancer. Scout is $1,500/month because some founders will still want the list without becoming a hashtag intern.

When a hashtag is enough

If you are learning that last-night bids, ghosted 20-pagers, not enterprise CPQ is next to Doc-to-PDF pain, PandaDoc-price, ‘they ghosted after the 20-pager’, last-night bid panic, a tag is enough. If you are about to spend talent money, it is not.

The tag is agency coaches selling template packs.
