How to write a roguelike deckbuilder creator brief
A roguelike deckbuilder creator brief is not a media-plan age band. It is a session: a person, a problem, a pattern of watch-time. I write it before I open a fresh account.
The sentence I actually scroll as: US English, 20-34, already bounced off a mobile port that needed a mouse and a deckbuilder that wanted a $15 IAP to unlock cards, watches ‘this port is unplayable’ and late-night-run videos on a couch.
Problem in their mouth: I wanted a couch run and I needed a mouse, and then the cards were an IAP.
Already tried: a port that needed a mouse, a deckbuilder that locked cards behind IAP, and the PC version they cannot play on a couch.
Watch: unplayable-port, IAP-locked-cards, late-night-runs, ‘I miss Slay the Spire on a phone’.
Reject: the 400k PC-roguelike YouTuber who will not touch mobile.
Adjacent: couch runs, unplayable ports, not Steam-launch recaps.

What to put on the page you send a creator
That later page is not the avatar brief. The avatar brief is for the phone. The creator page is: one mechanic, one CTA, one forbid list.
Mechanic: a live mobile deckbuilder with a 20-minute run, or a port that is not unplayable without a mouse. A live listing whose first screenshot is a thumb-sized board.
CTA: Install, play a 20-minute run with thumbs, drop the code.
Forbid: Do not ask them to compare Steam sales. Ask them to finish a run with thumbs. No medical claims. No fake “not sponsored” energy when you paid them.
A 20-minute run they can finish on a couch. If they never open the product, the video will be a read-through of your website.
What to ignore
Follower counts, “micro vs macro,” competitor creator lists, and anything that starts with #roguelike. Those belong in the outreach spreadsheet, after you have names from a feed.
Also ignore “make it go viral.” An avatar brief cannot promise that. It can only promise match.
Example video to have in your head while you write: someone fighting a card UI with a thumb and quitting.
Unplayable-port rants already have the audience; a 20-minute thumb-first run is the demo.
Scout is $1,500/month for the list that comes out of this brief. You approve every creator and every rate. No demo. No download guarantee.
