What roguelike deckbuilders creators charge
I do not have a rate card for roguelike deckbuilders and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.
The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. PC YouTubers quote launch-video rates.
The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.
Why email is where the money-sink happens
I prefer email. The contact is usually in a small mobile-roguelike bio. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”
Unplayable-port rants already have the audience; a 20-minute thumb-first run is the demo.
What not to pay for
A PC trailer with no phone in frame. Do not ask them to compare Steam sales. Ask them to finish a run with thumbs. Skip the 400k PC-roguelike YouTuber who will not touch mobile.
The tag is PC YouTubers and Steam recappers.
What I actually measure
Unique App Store codes, not a Steam wish-list number. App Store installs with a unique custom code. No download guarantee. No demo.
If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
