Sewing pattern apps vs a hashtag list

Creator-powered user acquisition

A hashtag list for sewing pattern apps is a vocabulary tool. It is not a roster. I still scroll as the person who would download this on a fresh account.

People tag sewing tag when they want brands to find them. That is a real behavior. It is also why the list looks public. Another shop emailed a version of it last Tuesday.

The person: US English, 26-48, already bounced off a PDF pattern that ate a printer and a paper pattern they cannot refold, watches this PDF ate my ink and cutting-table videos on a Saturday. They watch PDF-ate-ink, cutting-table, I cannot refold this, Saturday-sew. Example: someone holding a 40-page PDF next to an empty ink cartridge. The same ink-cartridge face two Saturdays.

How I actually use a tag, then ignore it

Hashtag search is cheap and fast. You will learn the words. You will also meet the 500k sewing-influencer whose grid is a fabric-haul, because that is who buys the tag.

Then I switch to the feed. Fresh account. Real phones. Linger, save, like, comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up. Ideally over 50k average views. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.

Like a fabric haul and you will leave the ink-cartridge people. Scout is $1,500/month because some founders will still want the list without becoming a hashtag intern.

When a hashtag is enough

If you are learning that cutting tables, ink-eating PDFs, not fabric-haul is next to PDF-ate-ink, cutting-table, I cannot refold this, Saturday-sew, a tag is enough. If you are about to spend talent money, it is not.

The tag is fabric-haul talent.
