How to write a sleep tracker app creator brief

Creator-powered user acquisition

A sleep tracker app creator brief is not a media-plan age band. It is a session: a person, a problem, a pattern of watch-time. I write it before I open a fresh account.

The sentence I actually scroll as: US English, 26-41, already bounced off an Oura they stopped charging and Calm sleep stories they skipped, watches ‘my sleep score made me worse’ and 4am-awake videos with the room dark.

Problem in their mouth: The score told me I failed at sleeping, so now I am awake and mad at a ring.

Already tried: an Oura they stopped charging, Calm sleep stories, and a cheap Amazon tracker whose app is ads.

Watch: sleep-score anxiety, 4am-awake, ‘I took the ring off’, mouth-taping arguments they are tired of.

Reject: the biohacker with a 12-supplement stack whose last 20 posts are brand deals.

Adjacent: anxiety-at-night, not eight-hour-miracle claims.

What to put on the page you send a creator

That later page is not the avatar brief. The avatar brief is for the phone. The creator page is: one mechanic, one CTA, one forbid list.

Mechanic: a wind-down that is not a 45-minute story, or a log that does not need a $300 ring. A live listing that works with the phone on the nightstand, not a hardware waitlist.

CTA: Start the wind-down, put the phone face down, stop talking.

Forbid: Do not ask them to claim they slept 8 hours because of you. No medical claims. Show the wind-down. No medical claims. No fake “not sponsored” energy when you paid them.

A working wind-down they can run tonight without pairing a device. If they never open the product, the video will be a read-through of your website.

What to ignore

Follower counts, “micro vs macro,” competitor creator lists, and anything that starts with #sleeptracker. Those belong in the outreach spreadsheet, after you have names from a feed.

Also ignore “make it go viral.” An avatar brief cannot promise that. It can only promise match.

Example video to have in your head while you write: someone taking the ring off because the score was ruining breakfast.

Sleep-score hate is already a genre; a phone-only wind-down that does not grade them can be the relief beat.

Scout is $1,500/month for the list that comes out of this brief. You approve every creator and every rate. No demo. No download guarantee.
