How to write a solo CRM creator brief
A solo CRM creator brief is not a media-plan age band. It is a session: a person, a problem, a pattern of watch-time. I write it before I open a fresh account.
The sentence I actually scroll as: US English solo operator, 28-42, already bounced off HubSpot’s free-tier maze and a Notion pipeline they stopped updating, watches ‘I lost a lead in a Notion database’ and ‘HubSpot emailed my mom’ videos after a missed follow-up.
Problem in their mouth: I lost a $4k project because it lived in a database I do not open.
Already tried: HubSpot free until it emailed the wrong person, a Notion pipeline that rot, and a spreadsheet they are scared to filter.
Watch: Notion-pipeline rot, HubSpot-maze, ‘I forgot to follow up’, spreadsheet-CRM shame.
Reject: the sales-influencer whose CRM is a screenshot for a $2k cohort.
Adjacent: missed follow-ups, solo pipelines, not SDR teams.

What to put on the page you send a creator
That later page is not the avatar brief. The avatar brief is for the phone. The creator page is: one mechanic, one CTA, one forbid list.
Mechanic: a pipeline that is not Salesforce in a hoodie, or a follow-up list a freelancer will open. A working pipeline they can add one lead to tonight.
CTA: Add the lead, set the follow-up, send it. Show the sent email.
Forbid: Do not ask them to flash a fake pipeline of 200 deals. Ask them to follow up one stale lead. No medical claims. No fake “not sponsored” energy when you paid them.
Add a lead, set a follow-up, no onboarding call. If they never open the product, the video will be a read-through of your website.
What to ignore
Follower counts, “micro vs macro,” competitor creator lists, and anything that starts with #CRM. Those belong in the outreach spreadsheet, after you have names from a feed.
Also ignore “make it go viral.” An avatar brief cannot promise that. It can only promise match.
Example video to have in your head while you write: someone finding a lead from March in a Notion view they forgot existed.
Lost-lead rants already have the audience; a follow-up list they will open on a phone is the product.
Scout is $1,500/month for the list that comes out of this brief. You approve every creator and every rate. No demo. No download guarantee.
