What sourdough kit subscriptions creators charge
I do not have a rate card for sourdough kit subscriptions and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.
The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. Homestead bakers quote cookbook rates.
The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.
Why email is where the money-sink happens
I prefer email. The contact is usually in a small apartment-bake bio. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”
Killed-starter rants already have the audience; a kit that gets them one loaf this week is the demo.
What not to pay for
A crumb-shot with no kit on the counter. Do not ask for an 11-hour documentary. Ask them to mix this week’s kit. Skip the homestead creator who already has a 20-year starter and will mock a kit.
The tag is homestead bakers and cottage-core sets.
What I actually measure
Unique codes, not a crumb-shot with no kit. Codes on a live kit checkout. No download guarantee. No demo.
If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
