What specialty coffee roasters creators charge

Creator-powered user acquisition

I do not have a rate card for specialty coffee roasters and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.

The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. Cafe-hoppers quote travel rates.

The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.

Why email is where the money-sink happens

I prefer email. The contact is usually in a home-brewer bio, often a gmail, not a cafe PR kit. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”

Stale-bag rants already have the audience; a roast date this week is the demo.

What not to pay for

Latte art with no roast date. Do not ask for a cafe crawl. Ask them to grind this week’s bag at home. Skip the 500k cafe-hopping creator who will never brew the client’s bag.

The catalog is cafe-hoppers and kettle unboxings.

What I actually measure

Unique codes, not a latte art clip with no bag. Codes on a live bag or a real subscription checkout. No download guarantee. No demo.

If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
