Vanlife planners vs a hashtag list
A hashtag list for vanlife planners is a vocabulary tool. It is not a roster. I still scroll as the person who would download this on a fresh account.
People tag #vanlife when they want brands to find them. That is a real behavior. It is also why the list looks public. Another shop emailed a version of it last Tuesday.
The person: US English, 24-40, already bounced off iOverlander they find noisy and a Facebook group that is 80 percent ads, watches ‘the group is ads’ and dump-station-hunt videos at dusk. They watch group-is-ads, dump-station-hunt, dusk-parking, iOverlander is a pile. Example: someone hunting a dump station at dusk because the group post was an ad. The same dusk-dump face two travel days.
How I actually use a tag, then ignore it
Hashtag search is cheap and fast. You will learn the words. You will also meet the 1M vanlife-influencer whose van is a brand trip, because that is who buys the tag.
Then I switch to the feed. Fresh account. Real phones. Linger, save, like, comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up. Ideally over 50k average views. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
Like a renovation flex and you will leave the dusk-dump people. Scout is $1,500/month because some founders will still want the list without becoming a hashtag intern.
When a hashtag is enough
If you are learning that dusk dump stations, noisy maps, not van-renovation flex is next to group-is-ads, dump-station-hunt, dusk-parking, iOverlander is a pile, a tag is enough. If you are about to spend talent money, it is not.
The tag is renovation-flex talent and solar affiliates.
