How to write a waitlist tool creator brief
A waitlist tool creator brief is not a media-plan age band. It is a session: a person, a problem, a pattern of watch-time. I write it before I open a fresh account.
The sentence I actually scroll as: US English pre-launch founder, 24-36, already bounced off a Carrd plus Google Form and a viral-loop waitlist that attracted other founders, watches ‘my waitlist is 800 other founders’ and ‘the Form responses are a mess’ videos the week before they wanted to ship.
Problem in their mouth: I have 800 on the list and I think 600 of them ship newsletters, not my app.
Already tried: Carrd plus a Google Form, a viral-loop waitlist of other founders, and a Twitter ‘reply for access’ that went nowhere.
Watch: founder-heavy waitlists, Google-Form mess, ‘viral loop brought me no users’, pre-launch dread.
Reject: the launch-Twitter person whose waitlist course is the product.
Adjacent: pre-launch dread, founder-heavy lists, not growth-hack loops.

What to put on the page you send a creator
That later page is not the avatar brief. The avatar brief is for the phone. The creator page is: one mechanic, one CTA, one forbid list.
Mechanic: a waitlist that is not a referral gimmick, or a landing that emails you when someone joins. A working waitlist page they can put a real product name on tonight.
CTA: Put the page up, join it yourself, show the ping. No loop required.
Forbid: Do not ask them to fake 10k on a waitlist. Ask them to show a ping from a real join. No medical claims. No fake “not sponsored” energy when you paid them.
A page, an email ping, no referral gimmick required. If they never open the product, the video will be a read-through of your website.
What to ignore
Follower counts, “micro vs macro,” competitor creator lists, and anything that starts with #waitlist. Those belong in the outreach spreadsheet, after you have names from a feed.
Also ignore “make it go viral.” An avatar brief cannot promise that. It can only promise match.
Example video to have in your head while you write: someone opening 800 waitlist emails and recognizing half as other indie hackers.
Founder-heavy-list rants already have the audience; a plain email-capture that pings you is the boring product that works.
Scout is $1,500/month for the list that comes out of this brief. You approve every creator and every rate. No demo. No download guarantee.
