What waitlist tools creators charge
I do not have a rate card for waitlist tools and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.
The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. Launch coaches quote course prices.
The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.
Why email is where the money-sink happens
I prefer email. The contact is usually in a Carrd footer or a personal gmail in a tweet. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”
Founder-heavy-list rants already have the audience; a plain email-capture that pings you is the boring product that works.
What not to pay for
A waitlist counter that is obviously other founders. Do not ask them to fake 10k on a waitlist. Ask them to show a ping from a real join. Skip the launch-Twitter person whose waitlist course is the product.
The tag is launch coaches selling viral loops.
What I actually measure
Unique signup links, not a ‘800 on the waitlist’ flex. Signups to a live waitlist product, unique link. No download guarantee. No demo.
If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
