How to find weather apps TikTok creators
I scroll Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube under a fresh account if I’m looking for weather apps creators. I try to put myself in the shoes of the person who would download this: US English, 25-40, already bounced off a free weather app that became ads and Apple Weather they do not trust for a 5pm storm, watches ‘this app said 10 percent and I got soaked’ and radar-nerd videos before a commute. Then I linger, save, like, and comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up.
I do not open #weatherapp and call the spreadsheet research.
They watch wrong-forecast rage, radar looping, ‘the free app is ads now’, bike-commute soakings. They already tried a free app that became ads, Apple Weather they argue with, and a local NWS site they cannot read on a phone. Adjacent is commute soakings, radar loops, not tornado tourism. Skip the storm-chaser with a sponsorship from a weather hardware brand in every video.
Ideally over 50k average. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink.
What keeps showing up in this feed
The same soaked-commute face two rain days in a row. The example I want in my head: someone showing 10 percent chance, then a soaked bike commute.
Wrong-forecast rage already has the audience; a radar they can read in five seconds is the product they will actually open.
Doing this by hand is kind of soul-crushing. Like a tornado-tourism video and you will leave the bike-commute people. That is why I automated the scrolling. Scout is $1,500/month for the list.
The long method essay is How we find creators by scrolling a real TikTok avatar. I wrote the first-person version at How I find influencers.
Reject list, written down
Write the reject before you scroll: the storm-chaser with a sponsorship from a weather hardware brand in every video. Also skip anyone whose last dozen posts are collab ads and who has never talked about wrong-forecast rage, radar looping, ‘the free app is ads now’, bike-commute soakings.
If they only exist under #weatherapp, they wanted brands to find them. That is not who is being served to the person who would download this tonight.
50k floor
I want roughly 50k average views because the economics will not work otherwise. Storm-chasers quote hardware-sponsor rates. $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from. One no is not the campaign.
