What weather apps creators charge

Creator-powered user acquisition

I do not have a rate card for weather apps and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.

The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. Storm-chasers quote hardware-sponsor rates.

The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.

Why email is where the money-sink happens

I prefer email. The contact is usually in a bio next to a weather-station storefront; say this is an app radar post. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”

Wrong-forecast rage already has the audience; a radar they can read in five seconds is the product they will actually open.

What not to pay for

A cinematic supercell with no download. Do not ask them to film a disaster. Ask them to check radar before a ride. Skip the storm-chaser with a sponsorship from a weather hardware brand in every video.

The tag is storm-chasers and hardware; they want a kit, not your radar.

What I actually measure

Unique App Store codes, not a viral storm clip with your watermark. App Store installs with a unique custom code. No download guarantee. No demo.

If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
